EduFleek is proud to host the next High School Model United Nations Conference, taking place on Saturday, 6 June 2026 at Alma Mater International School in Krugersdorp.
This exciting academic event brings together high school learners for a meaningful day of debate, diplomacy, leadership and global problem-solving.
Learners will step into the role of international delegates, represent different countries, debate a major global issue, negotiate with other delegates, and work together to draft practical resolutions.

To ensure a high-quality experience and meaningful participation, the conference will run in two sessions:
- Morning Session: 08:00 – 12:00
- Afternoon Session: 12:30 – 16:30
Each session is limited to 40 delegates, creating an environment where every student has the opportunity to speak, engage, negotiate and lead.

Climate Change as a Threat to International Peace and Security
Climate change is one of the most urgent global challenges facing the world today. However, it is no longer only an environmental issue. It is increasingly linked to food insecurity, water shortages, displacement, humanitarian crises, political instability and conflict.
In this Model United Nations conference, delegates will explore how climate change can place pressure on countries, communities and international systems.
Delegates will debate key issues such as:
- How climate change can contribute to instability and conflict
- The impact of droughts, floods, food insecurity and water scarcity
- Climate-related displacement and migration
- The security concerns of vulnerable countries, including Small Island Developing States and climate-affected African nations

What is Model United Nations?
Model United Nations, also known as MUN, is an academic simulation of the United Nations.
Students represent different countries and debate global issues from the perspective of those countries. They must research their country’s position, deliver speeches, negotiate with other delegates and work towards practical solutions.
During the conference, learners will take part in:
- Opening speeches
- Formal caucus
- Informal caucus
- Resolution drafting
- Voting on proposed solutions
MUN encourages students to think critically, speak confidently and understand global issues from multiple perspectives.

- Educators: Two educators per school attend free of charge

Countries will be allocated once participation has been confirmed.
Schools are encouraged to register early, as places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
