We invite all high schools to participate in our upcoming High School Model United Nations (MUN) Conference at Curro Midrand Sagewood.

To accommodate more schools while maintaining a high-quality conference experience, the event will be offered in two sessions:
🕗 Morning Session: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
🕧 Afternoon Session: 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Each session has a limited number of delegates to ensure meaningful participation, dynamic debate, and strong engagement throughout the conference.
What is the Model United Nations?
The Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations where high school learners represent different countries, debate global issues, negotiate solutions, and draft resolutions.
It offers students a valuable opportunity to develop important skills such as:

- Diplomacy and negotiation

Conference Topic
Deepfakes, disinformation, and the protection of electoral integrity and public trust
As artificial intelligence and digital media continue to evolve, societies around the world are facing growing concerns about misinformation, manipulated content, and the impact these can have on democratic processes.
Delegates will explore important contemporary issues such as:
- The rise of deepfakes and AI-generated political content
- The spread of disinformation during election periods
- The impact of false and manipulated media on voters, candidates, and public trust

During the conference, students will take part in:
- Opening Speeches
- Formal Caucus (structured debate)

Participation Details
- Cost: R299 per delegate
- Educators: Two educators per school attend free of charge
- Catering: Snacks and refreshments will be provided
- Country Allocation: Countries will be allocated once participation has been confirmed
