Thank you to all the schools that joined us for the Model United Nations in 2024. Based on our experiences and valuable feedback from teachers and students, we are excited to announce several enhancements to the 2025 Model United Nations programme:
Key Changes for 2025
- Participant Limit: Each session will be capped at 40 participants, ensuring that every delegate has ample opportunity to express their views during discussions.
- Focused Topics: We will concentrate on a single topic per session, allowing for in-depth exploration and the development of comprehensive, written resolutions.
- MUN Workshops: We will conduct workshops designed to equip students with the skills necessary for effective participation in MUN. These sessions will cover everything from crafting opening statements to drafting resolutions.
- Top caterers will provide snacks and refreshments at both the MUN workshops and conferences.
What is the Model United Nations?
The Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations where high school students represent different countries. Participants engage in a variety of activities including debates, negotiations, and resolution drafting on pressing global issues such as peace and security, human rights, and sustainable development. MUN fosters essential skills such as critical thinking, research proficiency, public speaking, diplomacy, and a nuanced understanding of international relations. This immersive experience allows students to appreciate the complexities of global politics and the challenges facing our world today.
